Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad’s Middle School Sports
History
Years ago, the school district partnered with the Boys & Girls Club to manage middle school sports. This partnership allows students from every middle school to participate in organized athletics while reducing the financial and staffing burden on the schools themselves.
The Reason the Boys & Girls Club does this.
Unlike school-funded athletic programs, the registration fee helps pay for the many expenses required to operate each season, including:
Qualified coaches
Game officials (referees)
Athletic equipment
Team jerseys
Game facility rentals
Insurance and administrative costs
Awards and end-of-season recognition
Scheduling, scorekeeping, and league operations
The goal is to provide a safe, organized, and positive experience for every student-athlete.
Financial Assistance Is Available
The Boys & Girls Club believes every child should have the opportunity to play sports, regardless of their family's financial situation. Financial assistance is available for qualifying families to help reduce or eliminate registration costs.
