Tryout Information

Tryouts are at Valley Middle School Gym March 2nd 2:45pm - 4:15pm

If you don’t make the team you can still register for Track & Field or Girls Soccer tryouts March 4th

12 Roster spots available per team. Will have two teams Varsity (any grade can make) and JV (only 7th/6th graders can make)

Skill levels vary we encourage every girl to come tryout for the team as long as they have a basic understanding of basketball rules.

You’ll receive email night of by 8:00pm if you made the team or not. Practices start March 9th

Teamsnap

This is our teams communication app. You’ll be able to communicate with coaches and other players this way. You will receive updated on game results/game schedules/practice schedules/cancellations/team dinners and more through this app. If you don’t receive a invite please check spam folder if you still don’t see it email athletics@bgccarlsbad.org and will make sure to get you added on. This app is the best way to coordinate carpooling as transportation is not provided for away games.

Season Information

Season Costs $250 this helps us pay for coaches/refs/uniforms/Equipment. We are not state funded so we rely on funding from businesses/local leaders/and parents if you would like to donate or know someone who would email athletics@bgccarlsbad.org

You have to pay team fees before you come to practice March 9th

Practices are

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 2:45pm - 4:15pm

Thursdays 1:45pm - 4:15pm

Practice are located at Valley Middle School Gym

Practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays will be replaced with games once league games start April 14th.

March 21st will have a Showcase Tournament at the Village Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad. Confirmation on Game times will happen March 17th.

Times Tentative to change based on League

First League Game April 14th

Last League Game May 7th

League Games are 4pm for Varsity and 5pm for JV

You’ll play 8 total league games

League Games are Tuesdays and Thursdays

Top 4 teams from Varsity move on to playoffs

Top 4 teams from JV move on to playoffs

If you don’t make playoffs your last day will be May 7th. If you make playoffs your team will move on for another week. You’ll have practice May 11th and First Round Playoff Game May 12th if you win that game you’ll practice May 13th and will have a Championship game May 14th.

Each Girl will receive a Jersey that they will keep till they return at end of the season
