Coach of Valleys Girls Varsity, JV, and 6th Grade team
Hey there, my name is Coach Sophia! My love for volleyball started early—I first picked up the ball in 6th grade for fun, and ended up being the middle blocker on the team by 7th grade. I continued to be a middle blocker through my high school years, and eventually my senior year, my team made it to CIFs. Those years on the court taught me not just how to serve or spike, but how to build teamwork, develop grit, and celebrate the joys of steady progress.
Now, as a coach, I’m all about creating that same energy and growth for my players. Whether we’re mastering fundamentals, sharpening competitive instincts, or building confidence, I’m dedicated to coaching with attention, positivity, and a whole lot of heart. I can’t wait to see everyone this season!

Varsity: 1:45–2:45 PM

Varsity and JV team are both in the Big Eight League (Carlsbad + encinitas Schools) Games are Tuesdays Thursdays Regular Season Starting October 7th and Ending October 30th
6th Grade team plays every Friday Night at the Village Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad against other Carlsbad Schools games start September 26th

Varsity and JV: Top 4 teams in the Big Eight League move on to playoffs.
First Round of Playoffs November 4th
Championship November 6th
Teams will be notified if they made playoffs October 30th
If your team did not make playoffs that’s the end of the season. Playoffs are single elimination so if you lose a playoff game that is the end of the season.
Playoff game times remain the same with Varsity playing at 4pm and JV playing at 5pm
6th Grade Playoffs:
Playoff tournament November 7th
2 seed vs 3 seed at 6pm
1 seed vs (winner of 2 v 3) 7pm
